Women's Electoral Lobby (WEL) has been a constant, prominent and relevant voice in the gender advocacy, policy and equality sector for over five decades. We advocate for equality and justice for all women. We carry out important research and campaign to knock down the barriers that hold women back from a life of dignity, safety and independence.
WEL is committed to being an effective and representative voice for women. As a national organisation, we are well placed to continue the urgent push for rapid reform on issues such as childcare, domestic and family violence and sexual assault, pay equity, and recognition and wage justice for carework.
We are building our focus and resources in the national organisation to strengthen WEL as a nationally representative women's advocacy organisation, with the flexibility and capacity to advocate for women at both national and state levels.

WEL continues to walk with Aboriginal people into a future where all people’s human rights are protected and racial, cultural, social, economic and educational equality is secure.
WEL recognises and acknowledges the profound injustices experienced by Indigenous Australians from invasion and colonisation and which continue today. Truth-telling means that we identify the full extent of these injustices and listen to Aboriginal people to understand their ongoing impact on the lives of Indigenous Australians.
