Volunteers are at the heart of our organisation and the focus of this role is to recruit, induct, train, support and recognise WEL volunteers. Our aim is to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator who will welcome volunteers, channel them into the best role for their own skill development but also for WEL’s ongoing future.

At this point in time we are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who is available during business hours to work from our Newtown office and who has expertise to help increase the diversity and geographic reach of WEL.

  3. A track record of building a positive volunteer team environment.

  4. Experience developing and delivering induction and training courses.

  5. Experience increasing membership diversity and geographic reach.

  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including cross cultural understanding and

building relationships with people of diverse backgrounds.

  7. Sound organisational skills, including high level computer and database skills.

  8. Ability to work autonomously in a team environment.

9. Ability to attend meetings with volunteers both inside and outside business hours.

Desirable skills:

  1. Familiarity with the women’s NGO sector.

  2. Experience using a NationBuilder or similar digital platform.

  3. Lateral thinking around member engagement and volunteer management.
