The Women's Electoral Lobby is free to speak out because we don't receive government funding. WEL members have kept WEL ticking for 45 years. 

There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to keep WEL lobbying. We get a lot done with a small team of one part-time coordinator, occasionally other contractors to deliver peak projects, our dedicated volunteer executive committee and a dedicated number of active members who volunteer their time and skills. Together, we lobby MPs, run state-based and national campaigns, work with subject experts, arrange campaign and member events, contribute to national debates, call out sexism via our social media accounts and make new WEL members welcome and involved. 

We keep our office overheads to an absolute minimum but we do have web-hosting, ongoing database costs and office/meeting room commitments so that we can make an impact.
