Join us at Sydney's Dendy Opera Quays on Monday 18th February for an exclusive WEL screening of 'On the Basis of Sex' a film about the life of Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Before the film, a WEL founding member and longtime advocate, Wendy McCarthy AO will welcome WEL's audience and introduce our guest Gina Rushton who will speak about her role in raising women's voices through her journalism. Gina was a finalist for the Media Award in the 2018 Human Rights Awards.

The film tells an inspiring and spirited true story that follows young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she teams with her husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination. The feature coincides with Justice Ginsburg’s 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court.

Raising funds for WEL's NSW State and Federal election campaigns, this event will provide core funds so that we can put issues that are important to women front and centre ahead of the coming elections. Please join us for a night of feminist film fun for a great cause.
